Hi
We are excited to show you the lighthouse progress. Here's a pic of it having the mesh and details assembled.
The mesh is a fantastic product that Playground Center developed. This means caregivers can see into the lightouse from the outside, and those playing inside can enjoy the height and views. Glass windows come with a whole heap of issues, so the mesh option is a good investment. It has been powder coated for durability in Caroline Bay's salt zone, and is specifically designed to help mitigate vandalism.
When the lighthouse is complete it will be brought down to Timaru in one piece, ready to stand in it's new location at the playground. Imagine how exciting it's going to be, watching this 8m tower come in from Marine Parade accross the grass to the playground!
Thank you to the Playground Centre Team. What a horrendous time for our country. Our thoughts go to everyone who is impacted by the devastating Cyclone Gabrielle. We checked in with the team based in Whanganui. They tell us they came through pretty lightly compared to other parts of the country.
We are on track
We are making positive steps in grant applications, and our plan to source the remaining funds to match our scope with budget is on track. While we are not actively fudraising with the public, if anyone is looking to further support us, your most welcome to get in touch info@cplay.co.nz.
Timing wise, the timeline milestones are being met. The security fences to go up 20th March to clear the site and prepare for the earth movers.
Big shout out to the CPlay volunteer team. there is a huge amount of work to fine tune, plan and fundraise this month. And thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone. Very soon the
effort and suport from our community will come alive! So exciting! Thanks team.
